Disneyland Vacation

We had a blast at Disneyland!

With Donald

With Pluto

With Flick

Lots of Goofy

Kalie was in heaven when we got to meet Captain America

They had to get the big 30" pizza when we went back to the hotel

We couldn't get up close to Tink but we did see her from the train ride while she was on the parade.
Seth always calls smoothies "Schmoozies" so I had to get this picture when I saw the sign on the building
On the carousel
Seth would talk to anyone who would listen. Even Burt from Mary Poppins

Happy 17 Teryn!

This really can't be happening. 17? Come on. The joke is getting old. She's really turning 7 and you all are pulling my leg.
I can't believe how fast these years are flying by, these kids are growing up too fast. My baby girl is 17. Sad, but happy. She is turning into a really amazing young woman. I have learned so much from her through out the years. She's brought lots of joy and laughter into our home. My days brighten when she walks in the door.  I really am not looking forward to the day when she moves out and she's off on her own. She's really itching to get out of high school and start her next chapter. Senioritous has hit her early. As much as I don't want her to go I know she is ready and will be great out there. She's a smart cookie. She makes me proud everyday. I am, we are very blessed to have her in our family.

Seth's Ordination

Seth turned 12 so that means it's Deacon time. He wanted to go to Bakersfield to do his ordination so he could have his family there with him. Family he did have. 57 friends and family gathered around Seth to show him their support. He had 4 Grandpa's hands on his head, a couple of uncles and friends. And his dad. All wonderful examples for him.
We did it in our old ward, Fairview, from when we lived there. Bishop Lamb presided over the ordination. It was great to be back in our old ward. It felt like home. Lots of other friends have moved out of that ward which makes the ward so much smaller than it was when we were there but it still felt good to be there. It was a great weekend.
I put Austin in charge of taking pictures, big mistake. I only put the ones in the blog that came out half way decent. The others are just too blurry.

Happy 12th Birthday Seth!

Well Seth has gone and done it and turned 12. No more primary, moved up to Boy scouts, going to scout camps, wanting to be more independant, passing the sacrament, growing up way too fast. I didn't think this birthday, for him, would hit me this hard but surprisingly to me, I have gotten a bit choked up during the week. Now we are getting ready to head down to Bakersfield to have him ordained a deacon. All I have to say Seth, you will always be my baby so get used to me calling you that even in your 40's. Love you bud.

President's Day 5 & 10K

Better late than never. Last week was the President's Day 5k & 10k. Scott signed himself, Austin and I up to run in it months before it was to happen. He tried getting the day off but they wouldn't let him so his back up, Seth was supposed to walk the 5k with me. Austin was running the 10k. The race started and Austin was off running and Seth stayed with me for a bit. When the split for the 10k runners to go another direction than the 5k runners, Seth said, See ya. And took off on the 10k route. Little booger. When we approached the last stretch of the race I turned around and saw Austin running up right behind me. He was on a roll and running at a good pace and didn't look tired at all.
He came in 1st in his age group. 7th overall. We tried an experiment with the bibs the participants wore during the run. Austin wore both his and Scott's bibs. Each had a tracker on it to record the runners times. He had Scott's inside his shirt, number facing his chest. He had his number on the front, numbers facing out. We didn't think about this at the time we put them on but it is recorded that Scott beat Austin by a smidge and came in 6th overall. Scott's time being 48:12.3. Austin did pretty dang good. I'm very proud of him.
Now for that little booger that left me. I came in just over a minute after Austin so we waited around for Seth. I didn't know how long he would take being that he does not like running and I was thinking the whole time while waiting for him that he was thinking that he wished he would've stayed with me. I was ready to send Austin back for him but then we saw him coming down the path just before the last turn before the home stretch. He ran the whole time and came in at just around an hour. Since he didn't have a bib we don't know his exact time. But he did it and I am very proud of him too.
